August 1, 2025
Dear 8th Grade,
We hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer- getting outside, spending time with family and friends. But, it is time to start thinking about the school year! It is only weeks away… The teachers on Team Eight are so excited to get to know you! Here is a list of specific materials you will need to begin the year:
General Supplies (Needed for all classes):
- Lined paper
- A water bottle
- A pencil case including:
- Pens
- Pencils!
- Eraser
- Enclosed pencil sharpener
- Highlighters
- Small post-its
4.An agenda (paper or digital, accessible on a chromebook) for recording and tracking upcoming due dates for homework. Students can expect to have regular homework assignments.
5.This year you will be provided with a ‘home folder’ that you will be expected to carry between school and home to help with communication and organization. You are welcome to bring a binder or other organization method if you have one that you prefer. We like to see student autonomy in organization as much as possible to better prepare for high school!
Supplies Needed for individual classes:
- Civics (Social Studies): One two pocket folder, one notebook.
- ELA: Writing journal/notebook with tear-out pages. Other supplies provided. Local library card recommended.
- French/Spanish: One three-ring binder and dividers.
- Math: One three-ring binder (1”) and dividers, highly recommend a spiral notebook or composition book to use for notes. OPTIONAL: Graph paper.
- Reading: One folder, one composition notebook.
- Science: a composition notebook will be provided. Feel free to bring your own if you’d like! Must have a sewn binding, no spiral bindings.
This time of year tends to have the best deals on school supplies. Please know that in January, a second round of purchasing of materials such as paper and pencils may be necessary.
This year will be full of new experiences and ideas. You are bound to find many things that you will enjoy! Feel free to connect with us by email prior to the start of school. We can’t wait to see you!
