Hi everyone! I’m Melissa Mae, Charlotte Lydon’s mom. I’ll be honest—it took me about five years as a school parent to really understand ParentSquare! I wanted to share a few tips that might save you some of that learning curve.
First, download the ParentSquare app and check your notification settings in two places.
- Within ParentSquare, choose whether you want updates by text, email, through the app, or a combination.
- Then check your phone’s settings to make sure notifications are allowed for the ParentSquare app.
- You can also choose Instant notifications or a daily Digest.
- I personally like Instant because I’d rather see information as it comes in, but Digest is helpful if you prefer fewer notifications.
ParentSquare is also a great place to message teachers and keep school communication organized.
- You can find announcements and forms, RSVP to events, sign up for conferences or volunteer opportunities, and often add school events directly to your personal calendar.
- You can toggle between both schools and find the directory after tapping the three dots in the bottom right corner of the home page of the app.
- You can also choose your preferred language, and ParentSquare will automatically translate messages for you.
Finally, each parent or guardian can have separate access and receive notifications directly.
If you’re missing a child, school, or account, contact the school to make sure the correct email addresses and phone numbers are on file.
